POSITION: Billing Specialist at a multi provider specialty medical clinic.
LOCATION: Salem, Oregon
SKILLS/TASKS: Two years of billing experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology or experience with NextGen preferred, but not required. Must be able read multiple billing forms, pay close attention to detail, multitask, teamwork, be a self starter and be dependable.
Responsibilities include the following:
· Calling on patient and Insurance accounts receivables
· Answering billing phone calls, communicating professionally and effectively to assist patients and insurance companies with questions regarding; billing, account balances, and taking payments.
· Work with patients and insurance companies to solve claim denials
· Contact insurance companies by websites, phone, and fax to verify coverage eligibility and obtain benefit information. Determine correct insurance order for billing claims.
· Posting Insurance and patient payments into EHR systems
· Submitting primary and secondary claims to clearinghouse
· Work in partnership with providers presenting on-going feedback
· Calling on returned mail
· Other billing duties may include: Accounts Receivable, claim denials for coding, posting charges and back-up to other billing staff as needed.
