Position: Director of Student Support Services and Career Development

Location: Athens Campus

Department: Division of Student Affairs

Reports to: Vice President for Student Affairs

Responsibilities:

• Actively communicate to faculty, staff, and students about services offered through student support services, including Academic Support Services, Career Services, Counseling Services, Disability Services, Special Populations Services, and Veteran’s Services.
• Provide supervision to personnel responsible for Academic Support Services, Career Services, Counseling Services, Disability Services, Special Populations Services, and Veteran’s Services.
• Develop, implement, and monitor budgets for student support services programs and services on an annual basis.
• Ensure accuracy of student support services information on the college website.
• Develop annual goals and objectives for student support services, including academic support, career services, counseling services, disabilities services, special population services, and veteran services.
• Direct the establishment of a comprehensive career center and career services including workshops and individual supports to current and prospective students and alumni.
• Conduct placement follow-up on newly graduated students.
• Supervise and provide career counseling services to assist students, applicants, and alumni in assessing their abilities, interests and values in relation to job and career opportunities, as needed.
• Supervise and coordinate employer recruitment of ATC students for career placement.
• Ensure that students with documented disabilities are appropriately identified as such in BANNER and that they receive accommodations for which they are eligible.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
