Carpenter constructs, maintains, and remodels buildings or related structures. Installs, fixes, or modifies all aspects of a building, including walls, ceilings, floors, and stairs, as well as related structures like railings, doors, windows, and air conditioning systems. Being a Carpenter follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter inspects buildings to determine repair that needs to be done. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Responsibilities:
• Ability to follow and maintain all required safety procedures and processes
• Construct, erect, and install structures and fixtures made of wood, such as concrete forms
• Building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters
• Install window and door frames
• Ability to install siding, drywall and batt insulation
• Safely operate hand and power tools
• Use measuring devices and read tape
• Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
• Minimum 3 years carpentry and concrete experience
• Provide own tools relevant to the trade
• Ability to read and comprehend blueprints
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to multiple job sites
