    The Sr. Analyst will support the Managing Director in the development of solar projects across the entire Sprague Solar portfolio.  The successful candidate should be capable of leading the development of 1-5MW solar BTM/FTM commercial systems from initial site assessment through to NTP.  This person will also work closely and collaboratively with the Sprague Solar team and across other Sprague business units. The Sr. Analyst will be working in a rapid learning environment with opportunities to expand their skill set from solar development into other DG technologies.

    Major Duties / Responsibilities:

    • Take projects through site control, feasibility scoping, design, permitting, interconnection, incentive securement, and detailed budget development.
    • Site specific preliminary designs and production analysis of PV arrays using models such as Helioscope or PVsyst to determine optimized PV layout.
    • Lead the permitting and utility interconnection process.
    • Assess land zoning and environmental considerations.
    • Obtain proposals from multiple contractors for design and installation scope.
    • Lead the economic modelling and prepare the solar PV proposal for prospect customers.
    • Coordinate activities between clients, counties, utilities, permit agencies and relevant authorities, contractors, and other engineering firms to develop projects.
    • Provide technical support to Sales team.
    • Assist in the research federal and state photovoltaic (PV) and battery storage incentive programs

    Education / Experience / Skill Requirements:

      • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or renewable energy related field.
      • Minimum 2 years of solar development or other relevant experience.
      • Experience in financial modelling of solar opportunities for commercial applications in the NE region.
      • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
      • Fluent with at least one of the common solar PV modelling software tools – PVsyst, Helioscope etc.
      • Proven success with the solar project interconnection and permitting process.
      • Proven success – demonstrated performance developing projects that are now in operation.
      • Demonstrate working knowledge of revenue streams and incentives for solar in the NE region.
      • Working knowledge of renewable energy system design.
      • Understanding of solar plus battery storage projects.
      • Understanding of the SREC market and REC management.
      • Experience in soliciting quotes from sub-contractors to complete pricing estimates.
      • Must be motivated, self-starter, capable of setting and managing multiple key priorities.
      • Ability to communicate among construction, technical and non-technical personnel, both internally and outside the company.
