Catering Coordinator

  • Responsible for the entire catering process from order form and menu maintenance to the organization of the catering orders. Also is responsible for the production and staging of catering, the accounting, delivery of, and follow-up of the orders.

    Essential Duties And Responsibilities

    • Takes all catering orders while on duty
    • Prepares all catering orders according to the order form and GT Pie standards
    • Organizes catering orders in logical and approved fashion
    • Delivers catering orders punctually and accurately
    • Maintains the catering menu in terms of pricing accuracy and having the quantity available to do business
    • Performs catering marketing functions on a consistent and frequent basis (e.g. Cold-calling customers or scheduling face-to-face sales meetings to strike new business, to follow-up on past customers, or to check how an order from a previous day was for a customer)
    • Maintains all customer contact and order information for future use in expediting orders or communicating with customers
    • Is technically proficient in all areas of food service department
    • Has general knowledge of registers so may be able to ring in and close out orders
    • Has general knowledge of store’s accounting software so may be able to create an invoice if needed
    • Other duties may be assigned
    • Once comfortable with position and performance, must be capable of training someone to supplement the position when days off are needed and/or for additional increase in catering sales volume

    Education And/or Experience

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Driving Eligibility

    • Must have valid Operator’s License and Proof of Insurance
    • May be subject to background check

    Language Skills

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions such as recipes, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

    Mathematical Skills

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to measure and compute units of measure commonly used in baking, such as weight and volume

    Reasoning Ability

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Other Skills And Abilities

    Must be able to use a blender, mixer and oven and follow all safety precautions while operating equipment.
