Summary
The Sales/Event Manager is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with local businesses, venues, and vendors to maintain and improve Food and Beverage Catering position within the market. The Manager is responsible for growing corporate, wedding, and personal event sales through outside sales efforts.
Essential Functions
Sales and Marketing
· Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business through sales efforts to grow Martha’s Catering and Martha’s Vineyard Beverage Catering sales.
· Develop and maintain client contracts with the Catering Management Team.
· Work with Chef to develop menus for events.
· Assist clients in the planning (food/beverage/linen/set up) of their event.
· Develop and maintain relationships with local businesses, venues and vendors and provide them with our latest marketing pieces and policies.
· Participate in community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and promote sales.
· Manage service staff and event execution.
General Working Guidelines
The Sales and Event Manager is expected to work a 40-hour work week. Weekday hours will be from 9A-5P. Weekend hours will depend on booked events. There may be times when the Manager will attend an event late into the evenings.
