You will provide equipment maintenance; equipment repairs and send equipment for repair. You will be assisting all CASE departments, doctors and hospital team members.
D u ti e s & R es p o n s i b il i ti es : This position is responsible for assisting the CASE departments with supplying sterilized equipment, setting up and breaking down ORs, assisting the veterinarians with procedures.
Cleaning, disinfecting and sterilizing all hospital instrument, Stocking and ordering of supplies for the sterile ORs, Maintenance of medical equipment and have a general knowledge of animal anatomy Qu a l if i ca ti o n s : K n o w l e d g e , S k i l l s , a n d A b il i t i es : Excellent judgement, high organizational skills, decision-making skills, efficiency, accuracy and a strong attention to detail are required.
There should be strong communication skills (written, listening and verbal), independent problem-solving skills and the ability to convey empathy for the animals in our care.
Have knowledge of surgical instruments (hemostats, scissors, thumb forceps) and what procedures would necessitate each instrument Knowledge of disinfecting surfaces for clean vs dirty procedures, bandages and general examinations Knowledge of deep cleaning protocols for ORs, OR hall and the pack and prep rooms Demonstrate and have a thorough knowledge of the Surgical Scrub Protocol both for the patient and yourself Knowledge and handling of surgical instruments Autoclave vs EO (instruments and indicator strips) Proper cleaning of instruments Checking of expired equipment and re-sterilizing if needed Stocking / sterilizing of infrequently used misc.
