Summary
• This position prepares, sterilizes, using Steam and High Level Chemicals for reusable instruments, supplies and equipment for use throughout the hospital system. Inventories and re-stocks, delivers supplies and equipment to all patient care areas.
Responsibilities
• Responsible for control of all parts of the sterilization process:
• decontamination;
• prep, pack, sterilize;
• documentation of sterilization
• sterile storage including remediation of equipment failures and hazards
• Monitor and maintain appropriate records to remain compliant with applicable regulatory agencies, as well as reporting occurrences immediately to supervisors.
• Restocks, labels, and maintains inventory, submits requisitions, collects and distributes instruments, trays, crash carts, and facility medical equipment.
• Respond to emergency requests and provide instrumentation and equipment based on knowledge of procedure intended and problem solves to provide adequate substitutions, if needed
• Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, keeping records of loads completed, items in loads, and maintenance procedures performed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Required: o High school diploma or equivalent. o Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification or Certified Board for Sterile Processing (CBSPRD). Preferred: o One(1) year of Central Service or Sterile Processing experience.
