Being a Chaplain - Home Care provides emotional support, spiritual counsel and comfort. Plans and coordinates interfaith worship experiences for staff, patients, and families. Additionally, Chaplain - Home Care typically requires a master's degree in divinity. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Chaplain - Home Care occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Description
Essential Functions :
- Responsible for the spiritual care of patients and their families.
- Responds to calls for sacramental ministry.
- Supports an interdisciplinary approach to pastoral care through coordination of clergy, pastoral visitors, and volunteers from the pastoral community.
- Utilizes time effectively and efficiently to ensure patient referrals are completed in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicates and displays a knowledge and understanding of the role and capabilities of various professionals and collaborates effectively.
- Utilizes effective verbal, nonverbal and written communication skills which reflect professional standards.
- Collaborates with the Patient and Family Liaison representative.
- Effectively communicates and displays a knowledge and understanding of the role and capabilities of various professionals and collaborates effectively.
- All other duties as assigned.
Additional Requirements
Required :
Education - Bachelors degree in Theology or Ministry
Preferred :
Certifications - Certificate of Ordination - Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA); National Association of Catholic Chaplains Certification - Accredited University or accredited training professionals
Physical Requirements :
Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
