Job Title: Process Technician

Company description: Viridis Chemical, LLC owns and operates a state-of-the-art facility – currently under construction - for the conversion of bio-ethanol into ethyl acetate in Columbus, Nebraska

Job Description: This position has critical to operating a modern state of the art chemical production facility. Operators are responsible for operational controls, monitoring visual systems, and maintaining production needs of the facility. This position will provide the successful candidate with the chance to apply their knowledge, learn new skills and work as a team within a clean and safe environment. A willingness to embrace continuous self-improvement, learn and assume new skills and responsibilities is expected. The ideal candidate for this role has experience in the manufacturing sector, pays strong attention to detail and is committed to workplace safety.

Essential job functions:

· 24/7 operation of the plant while taking a slot in a shift scheduled for 12 hours in a group of 5 swing shifts.

· Write procedures for all operating positions.

· Maintain good communication and cooperation within the group.

· Qualify on all positions within a month of hiring or completion of the qualification procedures.

· Perform appropriate duties as assigned by management.

· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

· Follow established safety rules and requirements.

· Follow established quality and environmental regulations.

· Follow standard operating procedures.

· Adjust and control operating settings.

· Troubleshoot and solve instrumentation problems.

· Maintain records of all important documents, equipment, and log books.

· Participate in job training to meet company needs.

· Sampling and testing of product.

· Loading and unloading of trucks and railcars.

· Maintain qualifications on all operating positions.

Essential Job Skills:

· Able to lift a maximum of 50 pounds and stand/walk for an 12-hour work shift.

· Employee must be able to work from heights.

· Team-oriented and self-directed.

· Committed to quality, safety and communication.

· Ability to work with schematics and comprehend complex technical instructions and blueprints.

· Basic electrical knowledge.

· Basic computer skills.

· Understanding of production procedures.

• Ability to work a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends.

· Good oral and written communication skills (English).

· Take ownership of assigned projects.

· Ability to complete tasks without supervision.

· Must be willing to work overtime as needed.

Education/Training Requirements:

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· Preferred Associates Degree in a technical field.

Experience: Previous manufacturing experience is recommended.

Working conditions: Regular job requirements are an 12 hour working day. Working conditions are inside/outside and my very depending on weather conditions. The successful candidate will be exposed to chemicals used in the process. The successful candidate may at times be required to work longer hours and/or outside regular business hours.
