Represents the organization to investors, the industry, and the public. Additionally, Chief Executive Officer - Physician Practice may require a MD. May require State License to Practice Medicine. Typically reports to a board of directors. The Chief Executive Officer - Physician Practice manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business. Strategic Leadership and Academic Oversight
As the Vice President of Academic Life and Dean of Faculty, you will serve as the Chief Academic Officer of the institution, reporting directly to the College President. You will play a crucial role in shaping educational policy and academic programs to ensure the institution's academic excellence.
Responsibilities
Fostering a collaborative and student-centered environment by providing academic and administrative leadership.
Supervising faculty, professional development staff, and various academic support teams.
Evaluating curriculum and overseeing the academic program to maintain high standards.
Coordinating grant writing efforts to support academic initiatives.
Representing the institution in regional and national higher education organizations.
Assisting with strategic planning to cater to the needs of a diverse student body.
Supporting faculty evaluation and development to enhance teaching quality.
Leading the SACSCOC accreditation process and institutional Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) efforts.
Advocating for faculty interests and overseeing faculty affairs committees.
Directing the creation of transfer articulation agreements to facilitate student progression.
Planning the academic calendar in collaboration with administration and faculty members.
Investigating and managing violations of the academic integrity policy.
Preparing and presenting reports to the Board of Trustees and coordinating committee meetings.
Coordinating updates to the College Catalog and academic-related sections of the website.
Overseeing major academic events such as Induction, Convocation, Awards Day, and Commencement to celebrate student achievements.
Chairing various academic committees including the Academic Council and QEP Committee to drive academic initiatives successfully.
Participating in new student orientation sessions and other student events to engage with the student community.
Serving on additional committees as assigned to contribute to the institution's overall growth.
Minimum Qualifications
Require a Master's degree, with a Doctorate preferred, to ensure the academic expertise needed for the role.
Prefer experience working with 2-year institutions of higher learning to understand the unique challenges of such environments.
Documented experience teaching at the college or university level to bring valuable insights to the academic leadership role.
Prefer experience in oversight of accreditation by a regional accrediting body, with SACSCOC experience highly desired to lead accreditation efforts effectively.
Require experience working successfully within a culturally and racially diverse student body to support inclusivity in academic programs.
Need experience in Academic Affairs administration to effectively oversee academic initiatives and programs.
