Chief Helicopter Pilot partners with general aviation management to establish and implement operating policies and procedures for helicopter pilots. Ensures flights are operated in compliance with all applicable FAA regulations. Being a Chief Helicopter Pilot schedules flight personnel, maintenance and maintains flight records. Assumes flight duty. Additionally, Chief Helicopter Pilot has all required licenses and meets flying time requirements. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Commercial Pilot license for helicopters - CPL(H). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Chief Helicopter Pilot manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Chief Helicopter Pilot typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     MyFlight Tours is hiring for our NEW Ocean City, MD location for sightseeing tour operations.

    Pilots will fly a Robinson R44 out of Ocean City Muni Airport (12724 Airport Rd, Berlin, MD 21811)

    The pilot will be paid a rate of $75 per day plus $20 per collective flight hour. Pilots can typically expect $100-$200 in tips from customers per day based on engagement, friendliness, and number of flight bookings.

    Required Skills/Qualifications:

    • FAA Commercial Helicopter (Rotorcraft) Certificate
    • Current FAA Class II (or higher) Medical Certificate
    • R44 SFAR
    • Min 300 hours Rotorcraft PIC
    • Min 50 hours PIC Robinson R44
    • Willingness to work long days, nights, weekends, holidays, scheduled days off, overtime and on-call
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills is a must.
    • No accidents or FAA violations in last 10 years
    • Must have a good personality and a love of working with the public
    • Must currently meet weight requirement of less than 190 lbs
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident at time of application

    Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

    • Certified Flight Instructor rating (CFI) in R44
    • Certified Flight Instructor Instrument rating (CFII) in R44
    • Completed the Robinson Safety Course
    • PIC recent experience (last 90 days) in Robinson R44

    Preferential Treatment to Pilots with:

    • Prior experience in part 135 operation
    • Completed the Robinson Maintenance Course
    • A&P with R44 maintenance experience
    • Current FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate

    Seasonal Position:

    May 2024 - October 2024
