    Job Summary:

    The Chief Clinical Information Officer (CCIO) is responsible supporting the strategic aims of Care New England through overseeing the integration of clinical information systems and technology into the organization's operations. Reporting into the SVP and Chief Information Officer, the role is crucial to Care New England's achievement of strategic goals.

    • The CCIO serves as a bridge between the clinical and information technology departments, ensuring that the organization's clinical workflows are optimized through the use of technology.
    • The incumbent will work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to understand their needs and translate them into effective technology solutions.
    • Collaborates with IT teams to design and implement clinical information systems, such as electronic health records (EHRs) and computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems.
    • Monitors and evaluates the performance of clinical information systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Developing and implementing the organization's clinical informatics strategy.
    • Collaborating with IT teams to design and implement clinical information systems, such as electronic health records (EHRs) and computerized physician order entry (CPOE) systems.
    • Ensuring the interoperability of different clinical systems and data exchange with external partners.
    • Leading the training and education of healthcare professionals on the use of clinical information systems.
    • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of clinical information systems, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing necessary changes.
    • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as HIPAA and Meaningful Use.
    • Participating in strategic planning and decision-making processes related to clinical informatics.
    • Collaborating with other executives and stakeholders to align clinical informatics initiatives with the organization's overall goals and objectives.
    • Staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in clinical informatics and recommending innovative solutions to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

    Requirements:

    MD or DO required

    Minimum 10 Years as practicing clinician with 5 or more years experience in direct clinical systems. Practical experience with electronic health information systems in a hospital setting.

    Current medical license in the State of Rhode Island.

    Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.

    Good problem solver with an in-depth knowledge of the current healthcare environment.

    Demonstrated executive level track record of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision making.
