Additionally, Chief Operating Officer establishes effective operational policies and procedures. Typically requires a master's degree. Typically reports to Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Responsible for the development of functional or business unit strategy for the entire organization. Defines corporate vision and strategy establishes company direction and focus. Midwest Dairy has offices in St. Paul, MN, and Ankeny, IA. This position can be fully remote within our 10-state region or hybrid/in-office.
Midwest Dairy is searching for a Chief Operating Officer to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence across the organization. Your primary goal will be to increase our organization's productivity, efficiency, and profitability. You will advise the CEO on key operational insights as well as provide coaching to employees.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction to business unit operations leaders who manage cross-functional teams that implement the strategic plan through partners.
- Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for dairy industry relations created through the Agricultural Affairs department. Direct work that demonstrates dairy checkoff value to farmers, processors, and related agriculture industry stakeholders.
- Provide overall leadership with internal peers and external partners or vendors to ensure business resources align with business needs.
- Directs the selection, training, development, and performance of assigned staff to retain a motivated, professional workforce for Midwest Dairy.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business or a related field required with a minimum 15 years progressive experience in program implementation and management, personnel management, and leadership influence.
- Should have proven experience in operational excellence and driving results.
- Previous dairy processor, non-profit or public service experience is encouraged.
