Analyzes the design effectiveness and structural reliability of major projects including assessing and testing materials. Being a Civil Engineer performs the necessary data collection and calculations in areas such as traffic forecasting, soil capacity, groundwater analysis, and structure design. Estimates costs including personnel and material needs, prepares proposals, and establishes completion dates. Additionally, Civil Engineer may also assist in inspecting aging infrastructure or overseeing improvement projects. May participate in an engineering or professional development program. A Civil Group, LLC is looking for a Civil Engineer to become a vital part of our team. We are a professional civil engineering and land surveying firm founded in 2000. We specialize in land development including everything from residential subdivisions to streets/infrastructure. Responsibilities
1. Provide conceptual design for residential subdivisions and commercial sites including building placement, parking lot layout, site utilities, etc.
2. Use AutoCAD Civil 3D software to prepare plans and construction documents.
3. Use stormwater software for storm sewer and detention design.
4. Review and understand development and land disturbance regulations required for jurisdictional approval.
5. Create and maintain working relationships with clients, the City of Columbia, Boone County, MoDOT, local utilities, and other jurisdictional agencies.
6. Maintain accuracy and quality of engineering design, reports and plans.
7. Receive instructions from senior engineers regarding general results required.
8. Maintain project budgets, timelines, and standards.
9. Perform site evaluations and construction observations on job sites.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri. However, consideration may be given to hiring a candidate who will attain their P.E. within a designated time period or has the experience and ability to proficiently perform all the responsibilities listed.
Schedule
Typically 40 hours per week Monday through Friday in the office.
