Claims Manager manages the operations of an insurance claims department to meet operational, financial, and service requirements. Oversees the intake and processing of insurance claims for personal, property, or casualty loss based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage. Being a Claims Manager manages appraisal and examination staff and processes. Assures timely and proper disposition of claims based on policy provisions. Additionally, Claims Manager recommends and implements best practices to ensure complete and thorough claim settlements, legal reviews, and investigations following company policies and insurance industry regulations. Determines the value of settlements for escalated claims. Manages negotiations of settlements and administration of claims in litigation. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Claims Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Claims Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1-3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Position Title: Claims Manager

    Qualifications: must have, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 7 years managing a claims project with a similar size or scope.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property and insurance claims.
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial insurance claims.
    • Certified NFIP Adjuster.
    • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.

    Responsibilities: The Claims Manager is a key individual responsible for overseeing NFIP Direct's claims activities, ensuring efficient and accurate processing of claims in alignment with industry standards and regulations.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Claims Management: Oversee and manage all aspects of NFIP Direct's claims activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing in compliance with industry standards.
    • Project Supervision: Provide leadership and supervision to claims project teams, ensuring collaboration and adherence to project goals.
    • Property and Insurance Claims: Leverage expertise in property and insurance claims to address complex issues, assess damages, and guide the claims process.
    • Commercial Insurance Claims: Manage and oversee commercial insurance claims, ensuring proper evaluation and resolution.
    • Certified NFIP Adjuster: Utilize NFIP Adjuster certification to ensure compliance with NFIP regulations and guidelines.
    • Supervision and Leadership: Lead and mentor claims teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
    • Performance Monitoring: Implement performance monitoring systems to track and evaluate the performance of claims teams and the overall effectiveness of operations.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure claims activities adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
    • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on claims performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective measures.

    Qualities and Skills:

    • 7 years of experience managing claims projects with a similar size or scope.
    • 3 years of experience in property and insurance claims.
    • 3 years of experience in commercial insurance claims.
    • Certified NFIP Adjuster.
    • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree as a minimum requirement.
