Receiving-Inventory Coordinator- Coil & Sheet

  • This position is primarily responsible for receiving all products at the warehouse as well as accurately accounting for and inputting the product information into a computerized system. M-F 5am-1:30 pm. $24.23-$31.77 per hour.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Collaborate with relevant parties regarding expected deliveries to include vendor delivery scheduling.
    • Receive shipments and verify shipments per order and invoice (quantity, quality, etc.).
    • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged; by de-shedding wrapping from coil and or sheet, then inspecting contents.
    • Contact purchaser, vendor, and shipping department if a mistake or damage with the shipment is identified. Facilitate returns by communicating with all parties until the issue is resolved.
    • Input product information in the system and maintain accurate records.
    • Move stock items to designated areas with forklift \ overhead crane as needed.
    • Inventory control includes investigating item discrepancies, understanding units for measuring product for selling and product adjustments.
    • Create, coordinate, and receive transfers of products between branches.
    • Perform end-of-month Branch transfer reconciliation.
    • Email appropriate parties within the distribution center and purchasing department all purchase order receipts.
    • Count product as needed.
    • Create and maintain professional relationships with receiving crew, vendors, suppliers, and other internal and external contacts.
    • Perform monthly inventory adjustment reconciliation.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     • High School diploma or GED required.
    • Minimum 2 years’ experience inventory control and receiving throughout multiple locations.
    • Must be customer service oriented and motivated with excellent oral and written communication skills.  Strong communication skills are critical as this position is in constant contact with both vendors and other employees located at all branches and departments of the company. 
    • Strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under time constraints and strict deadlines. 
    • Detail oriented with the ability to record and maintain accurate records and documentation.
    • Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Minimum 1 years’ experience with a WMS (Warehouse Management System), Latitude familiarity a plus.
    • Familiarity with Harris operating system helpful, although not necessary.
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to write and read routine reports or job orders. Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff and ability to effectively communicate with customers and staff to make an accurate assessment of customer needs. Ability to speak, read and hear English.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks.

    COMPUTER SKILLS: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate level knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and be able to utilize vendor websites.

    REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem-solving skills to analyze customer problems and to recommend the proper course of action. Ability to organize and prioritize job projects and requirements.

    Attendance is required Monday through Friday between the hours of 6500 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. or within normal business hours as established by the supervisor. Employees must be flexible to change hours when the job requires them for the day. Overtime may be required.
