Communications Editor Supervisor jobs in Oklahoma
Communications Editor Supervisor supervises a staff of editors who write, prepare, and review content to be used in company publications. Helps develop, maintain, and implement editorial policies and standards and ensure conformance. Being a Communications Editor Supervisor oversees and reviews the team's work product. Monitors accuracy and ensures documents and materials follow organizational standards and branding. Additionally, Communications Editor Supervisor manages project tasks and timelines. Manages the coordination of production and distribution activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Communications Editor Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Communications Editor Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Thorough knowledge of functional area and department processes. Job Description and Responsibilities
Editing/Publishing News Content – 85%
- Working knowledge of Edius editing software and Bit Central playout system
- Ability to edit video, still images and audio for newscasts and web platforms
- Communicate w/co-workers accurate information in a timely manner
- Ability to tune in an ENG or SNG signal
- Knowledge of web-based applications and media servers
- Run traffic computer for morning show or evenings as needed
- Routinely assist in news production which includes prompter, cg, audio, camera
Archive maintenance – 10%
- Perform regular archiving of video
- Perform regular maintenance checks on editing equipment
Contribute to editorial content/planning – 5%
- Attend and participate in editorial meetings, as scheduled
- Contribute to story ideas
Requirements
- 2-year college degree in related field preferred, but not required
- News editing experience is preferred, but not required
