Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer programs and sets up CNC milling, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. Reads and interprets technical blueprints and design models and inputs the product design into the computer modeling software. Being a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer adjusts machine settings to the desired product specifications, and troubleshoots and maintains the machine. Utilizes G or M code and CAM software (MasterCAM,CAMWorks or others). Additionally, Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer tests accuracy of settings and programs. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Computer Numeric Control Machine Programmer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed. Developing G-Code programs using MasterCam
Working with CNC machines with the assistance of a machinist to produce and receive acceptance of first articles
Assist machinists in preparing CNC machines for production runs
3 yrs programming mills (horizontal and vertical) and lathes (multi axis) with Mastercam
Proficient with measuring tools, Calipers, Mics, Bore Gages, Etc.
Knowledge of CNC controllers and various CNC machines
Strong understanding of CNC G-Code program structure
Experience with mult-axis lathes a plus (live tooling)
Experience working with blueprints and strong understanding of GD&T
Strong communication skills
Preferred experience in job shop environment
First shift hours: 7:00am to 3:30pm
