Join our team as a Part Time Conservation and Parks Technician at based at Winton Centre. At Great Parks, our team members work together to preserve and protect natural resources and to provide outdoor recreation and education in order to enhance the quality of life for present and future generations.
Great Parks is looking for detail-oriented summer technicians to assist our environmental professionals with monitoring and managing natural resources. Ideal candidates will have some knowledge of Ohio’s native ecosystems and a background in biology or environmental science. You will be assigned to many different projects related to wildlife, plants, and watersheds and will gain experience with natural areas monitoring, data collection, and data entry and will have a chance to work at multiple parks and preserves in Hamilton County.
A successful Part Time Conservation and Parks Technician performs a variety of semi-skilled labor in developed and natural park areas. This position is an excellent opportunity to work outdoors and gain conservation skills. The C&P tech assists in maintenance of park facilities, grounds, landscape beds, habitat, trails and equipment. Employee proceeds alone or with coworkers on regular duties, with guidance from supervisor. Refers unusual or difficult problems or situations to immediate supervisor. Required work on weekends, holidays, evenings and work outside of normal schedule. This position prefers a background in natural areas.

Qualifications
An appropriate combination of education, training, course work and experience may qualify an applicant to demonstrate required knowledge, skills, and abilities. An example of an acceptable qualification is:
High School degree or GED and some prior experience or education in parks & recreation, natural resources, facility management, horticulture, grounds maintenance, or related field.
Ability to document identity and employment eligibility within three (3) days of original appointment as a condition of employment in compliance with Immigration Reform and Control Act requirements.
License Of Certification Requirements
State Motor Vehicle Operator’s License that meets GPHC current carrier guidelines.
