The consumer loan officer is vital to our operations, you will be assisting our members, federal and postal employees, and their families with their financial lending needs. The Loan Officer underwrites consumer loan applications to determine creditworthiness of the borrower based on the credit union’s predetermined lending guidelines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
~ Must be proficient with computers, with basic to Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
~ Capable of learning credit union’s core operating system to access member information to complete transactions.
~ Loan processing in adherence to credit union policy and procedures.
~ Perform in-depth loan interviews and analyzes borrower financial conditions to include credit history, credit score, collateral, debt ratios, and other financial information.
~ Verify the accuracy of application information and compile documents needed for the loan to proceed to disbursement.
~ Cross-sell credit life, disability insurance, Gap & Warranty products.
~ Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in all interactions with members and co-workers.
~ Assists in servicing loans by processing such items as: payoff, refinances, loan workout arrangements, address changes, payment extensions, collateral releases, and payment due date changes.
~ Responsible for filing vehicle titles and prompt follow-up on vehicle insurance coverage.
~ Develop relationships necessary to meet and exceed member needs (includes relationships with members, coworkers, and external partners), holding self and others accountable for providing a positive member experience. Use appropriate interpersonal skills to resolve difficult situations.
~ Helps with member accounts, back-office operations, and other duties as requested.
~ Our team members need to be bondable, pass a background check and possess a valid driver's license.
