    The basics of this position:

    Continuing Education instructors are part-time, temporary hires specific to their area of expertise. The ideal candidate has a passion for sharing knowledge, excellent communication skills, evening/weekend availability, and experience teaching online. Currently seeking non-credit instructors for online and/or in-person personal enrichment and professional development community classes.

    What you'll do:

    • *Instructor must have the knowledge to teach the proposed subject area topic and work independently to develop and present subject area class information and materials to a diverse group of community members with minimal supervision and establish a good rapport with students.

      *Instructor must have the ability to adapt presentations for understanding at various educational levels and develop easy-to-understand oral presentations along with developing written materials where needed.

      *Strong computer skills are necessary and required. Instructor must have the ability to skillfully use a computer and are required to communicate with the College staff using the stlcc.edu email provided at time of hire. Must be able to respond to requests in a timely manner.

      *For online classes, instructors must have their own equipment to conduct the class and have the technical skills to navigate online communication platforms including but not limited to Zoom. College will provide Zoom license for instructor class use.

      *Instructors are required to complete up to two hours of annual training on their own time and adhere to college policies and practices.

    Education, experience, and other requirements:

    *Qualifications vary. Minimum requirements are a degree or certificate in the field of expertise or a proven history of applied experience. Reliable computer/internet access and proficiency are required.

    *Completion of a successful background check is applicable to all applicants. In addition, if teaching for students under 16 years of age, applicants must also register and be verified through the Family Care Safety Registry background check

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Prior teaching experience in an educational or community setting.
