Controller leads and directs an organization's accounting functions. Establishes and maintains the organization's overall accounting systems, procedures, and policies. Being a Controller directs all analysis and reporting of financial information including budgets, planning, and required filings and reports. Presents findings and recommendations to management. Additionally, Controller requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance. Typically requires the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential. Typically reports to chief financial officer (CFO). The Controller manages a business unit, division, or corporate function with major organizational impact. Establishes overall direction and strategic initiatives for the given major function or line of business.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CONTROLLER:

    • Prepare entries to general ledger accounts
    • Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
    • Analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital
    • Review balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position
    • Review reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to monthly close process
    • Journal entries and reconciliations


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS OF THE CONTROLLER:

    • Degree in Accounting/Finance related field
    • 4 years progressive accounting experience
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Prevailing wage experience is a plus
    • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
