    Job Description Summary

    Reporting to the President/CEO. Manages the Compliance, Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program, Education. Responsible for the Agency Compliance Program. Maintains Administrative Policies and Procedures. Leads preparation of Agency CHAP accreditation and is available during Medicare and State Surveys as needed. Coordinates and oversees the Agencys Quality Assessment Performance Improvement Program. Attends Education to maintain Compliance Officer Certification.

    Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

    1. Updates Policies and Procedure Manual with new and/or revised policies as changes in programs, services and regulations occur.
    2. Facilitates Agency policy approval for new and revised policies through Senior Leadership.
    3. Plans, Prepares, and leads the Compliance Program.
    4. Facilitates quarterly compliance chart audits for all locations, developing criteria to monitor compliance with regulations and past survey deficiencies.
    5. Facilitates prebilling monthly chart audits for new admissions and patient stays over 180 days.
    6. Facilitates Utilization management audits.
    7. Prepare and submit ADRs or any other documentation requested for review.
    8. Tracks ongoing Agency Performance Improvement Project and plans of correction monitored and reviewed quarterly for improvement.
    9. Reports Compliance to the Board quarterly.
    10. Monitors the compliance hot line and updates the disclosure report as needed and facilitates the corrective action plan with the governing board.
    11. Conduct investigations as needed.
    12. Writes plans of correction for statements of deficiencies.
    13. Follow up on annual fees and application process as requested.
    14. Design/annually update clinical orientation program for current and new employees.
    15. Oversee the CAHPS program and follow up on negative family surveys.
    16. Report CMS reports Pepper, HIS, QA CASPER reports and NCLOS reports.
    17. Demonstrate ability to communicate with all levels of hospice staff including the board of director.

    Qualifications


    Position Qualifications

    1. Registered nurse currently multistate license.
    2. A minimum of two -years of experience in hospice compliance.
    3. Demonstrated commitment to the hospice philosophy of care
    4. Certified Professional Compliance Officer certification
    5. Working Knowledge of Hospice COP
    6. Knowledge and ability to deal with a variety of personalities and situations
    7. Strong planning, analysis, problem solving, and project management skills.
    8. Ability to design and implement effective staff education and training programs.
    9. Ability to Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
