Court Clerk supports paralegals with various tasks required in the preparation of materials for court cases. Inputs and maintains tracking data for all case materials. Being a Court Clerk obtains requested files and assembles required materials for court proceedings. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Court Clerk typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Court Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. General Description: Our ideal candidate is someone who can handle confidential information, have good organizational skills, an interest in attending trials, listens to details and can write a clear and concise report of the proceedings.
Essential Functions: Attend court proceedings and record any action taken during the proceedings. Deliver oaths to jurors and witnesses, read verdicts, poll jurors as necessary, and will serve as the evidence custodian for exhibits marked or admitted during trials and hearings.
Required Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an equivalent diploma is required and some college credits preferred. A minimum of two (2) years related experience in clerical. Experience as a court clerk, court reporter, or paralegal preferred.
