Credit and Collections Director leads the overall credit function. Designs and implements processes to improve cash flow and reduce receivables. Being a Credit and Collections Director develops policies regarding the investigation of customers, extension of credit lines, and collections. Consults with current and future clients regarding their level of credit. Additionally, Credit and Collections Director oversees the negotiation and course of action taken for overdue accounts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Credit and Collections Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Credit and Collections Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     JOB SUMMARY:

    This individual serves as the senior leader overseeing the Commercial Sales, Operations, and Services areas of the credit union's commercial lending program. This role is further responsible for expanding the commercial lending department by way of developing and implementing strategies to grow the loan portfolio while ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining financial stability. Additionally, they play a crucial role in risk management by setting credit policies and guidelines, while building and maintaining relationships with key business clients and stakeholders, representing the credit union at industry events. Works closely with other senior management to align the commercial lending strategy with the broader organizational goals. This position requires a deep understanding of credit products, excellent leadership skills, and a strong capacity for financial analysis and decision-making.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Define and execute the strategic vision for the entire commercial department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and market dynamics.
    • Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within the commercial department, optimizing communication and coordination between the sales and operations teams.
    • Ensure the seamless integration of sales, service, and operational strategies across the commercial lending function.
    • Drive the integration of market analysis insights into sales and operational decision-making, providing a comprehensive and informed approach to business strategies.
    • Collaborate with other leaders and departments, including credit, risk management, and marketing, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to commercial success.
    • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the success of sales and operational initiatives, making high-level, data-driven adjustments as necessary.
    • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive strategic plans for the commercial department, offering insights into market trends, operational capabilities, and areas for improvement.
    • Oversee the development of a high-performing commercial team, providing mentorship and growth opportunities for both the sales and operations functions.
    • Plan, propose, and manage budgetary considerations within the commercial department, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    • Extensive leadership experience in commercial banking, overseeing both sales and operations functions at a senior manager level.
    • Proven ability to shape and execute high-level strategic initiatives.
    • Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities.
    • In-depth knowledge of commercial lending, banking regulations, and compliance.
    • Strategic thinking and the ability to align sales strategies with operational goals.

    • Strong analytical skills to monitor and adjust key performance indicators for success.
    • Adaptable to evolving market dynamics and client needs.
    • Job Related Travel - As required.

    Education/Experience:

    • Education or experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in business or related field is required; master's degree or other advanced certification preferred.
    • Must have a minimum of ten (10) plus years of progressively responsible experience in Commercial Lending, including selling, relationship building, account management, risk management, and leadership responsibilities.
