  • Ocean State Credit Union is seeking Teller Supervisor to assist the Branch Manager to supervise and coordinate the teller area and ensure professional member service and effective operations.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Supervises and schedules the daily activities of the Teller staff;

    Resolves member problems and complaints with courtesy and discretion

    Assists in training and development of teller staff;

    Opens and closes branch and vaults and activates security devices

    Responsible for all branch security routines and audits; assures staff follows appropriate security procedures

    Ensures that transactions are processed in compliance with regulations and applicable laws

    Reports large currency transactions and suspicious activity.

    Orders branch cash; verifies cash shipments and proves vault cash;

    Maintains logs, records and inventories as required.

    Assists Tellers in recovering and documenting overages and shortages;

    Uses discretion to override check holds and exceptions to policy;

    Maintains accurate currency balance record;

    Performs branch settlements;

    Promotes Credit Union’s products and services; maintains an active participation in community affairs;

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

    At least two years Teller experience in a financial banking environment. Supervisor experience required.

    High School diploma plus specialized course work and training.

    Demonstrated supervisory ability.

    Strong attention to detail. Good communications, interpersonal, member service and sales skills.

    PC proficiency to include Microsoft Office and other banking software.

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    Monday - Wednesday 7:45am-4:45pm, Thursday & Friday 7:45am-6:15pm & Saturday 8:45am-12:15pm when required, schedule may vary based on branch needs.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This position requires standing for long periods of time and working primarily at a workstation in an open office environment. Daily tasks include speaking directly with members, extensive use of a computer performing standard keyboard functions, as well as use of the phone.
