Parkwood Day School is seeking a Program Director for the Garnett, KS location, which serves children birth to pre-k year-round. Applicants must meet all KDHE lead teaching requirements and be KDHE director qualified for 60 children (or more). This person should have a degree or certification in Early Childhood Education or a related field with coursework in Early Childhood Education, and a working knowledge of the High Scope Curriculum model or a cognitive development theory approach to learning.
The individual selected for the Program Director of Parkwood Day School-Garnett should be a person desiring to work in a facility that is dedicated to meeting the educational, emotional, social, and physical needs of children, families and staff members within the program. They must be able to work collaboratively with program directors from our other locations, as well as Parkwood's executive leadership staff, to promote a consistent program mission. This person should be able to coordinate a variety of programs within the school and community. The Director should have the ability to work well with staff members and families to develop positive working relationships to the benefit of the school.
The program is open 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, M-F. The person selected for this position must be available to work on-site during business hours on average of 40 hours per week. Some classroom support may be necessary throughout the week - opening or closing a classroom and/or covering staff breaks.
