Curriculum Manager manages the design and development of training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Oversees skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Manager consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Manager provides outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Participates in the selection of software or collaboration tools used for training. Establishes metrics used to evaluate training effectiveness and analyzes outcomes to determine ROI and recommend changes to programs. May select and manage vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Curriculum Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Curriculum Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Reports to:  Deputy Superintendent

     

    Contracted days:  240 days

     

    Job Summary

    Under limited supervision, provides professional leadership in the development, implementation, and oversight of magnet schools funded as part of the Magnet School Assistance Program.  Ensures District compliance with federal grant processes and procedures.  Collaborates with key stakeholders at the school, District, and community level to ensure sustainability of the grant-funded magnet schools.  Performs related professional, administrative and supervisory duties as required.  Reports to the Deputy Superintendent.

     

    Qualifications:

    The Project Director position will be required to:

    • Possess valid Teacher and Administrative certificate from the S.C. State Board of Education
    • Hold a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred) from an accredited university or college
    • Have at least three years of successful administrative experience in a school setting
    • Candidates should be knowledgeable in curriculum development and desegregation strategies
    • Candidates should also have budgetary, procurement, and scheduling experience, and experience facilitating partnerships and extended learning opportunities
    • Candidates should be able to understand and apply federal grant laws and regulations
    • Experience in grants management and project management is strongly preferred

     

    Essential Duties:

    • Provide administrative oversight of all grant activities to ensure they are completed on time and within budget in adherence to MSAP policies and regulations
    • Responsible for all fiscal and programmatic monitoring, data collection and reporting
    • Serve as the primary liaison to the evaluation team and the MSAP office at the US Department of Education
    • Manage marketing and recruitment efforts to reduce minority group isolation at the participating schools in order to meet enrollment goals set forth in the grant
    • Lead outreach efforts to build relationships with prospective families and students
    • Participate in community events in partnership with local businesses, civic groups and community organizations for education and outreach purposes
    • Supervise the student selection process (application and lottery) to ensure equity and integrity
    • Supervise the day to day operation of the magnet programs in the schools and make reports regarding operations to the appropriate District and Federal authorities
    • Analyze and report magnet school data at the specified times during the MSAP grant cycle
    • Direct financial management and ensure proper use of MSAP grant funds
    • Assist in identifying and hiring highly qualified personnel for the project
    • Lead quarterly project team meetings
    • Attend and present at regional and national conferences
