The Curriculum and Pedagogical Specialist position is a shared position between Frassati Catholic Academy and Bl. MIguel Pro Catholic Academy.
The Curriculum & Pedagogical Specialist is hired by the Principals of both Frassati Catholic Academy and Blessed Miguel Pro Catholic Academy to support both schools in achieving excellence in the implementation of the Archdiocesan curriculum in the classroom and in achieving excellence in pedagogical practices that are consistent with a Catholic understanding of the human person.
The Curriculum & Pedagogical Specialist serves as an agent of Frassati Catholic Academy and of Blessed Miguel Pro Catholic Academy and performs all position responsibilities under the supervision of the Principals of both schools according to the teachings of the Catholic Church, the goals and objectives of the Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Denver, and Archdiocesan policies.
The Curriculum & Pedagogical Specialist, having content knowledge, curriculum planning, and pedagogical expertise, will work with the Principals of both schools, in coordination and consultation with the Academic Renewal Specialist in the Office of Catholic Schools, in the creation of materials and resources that will be made available to teachers and leaders in order to support the ongoing academic renewal of both Frassati and Blessed Miguel Pro.
The Curriculum & Pedagogical Specialist will focus on individual and group professional learning that will deepen leaders’ and teachers’ understanding of curriculum imbued with a Catholic worldview and pedagogical methods that form the human person.
In order to meet this purpose, the Curriculum & Pedagogical Specialist will help create exemplar lesson plans, unit plans, and curriculum support documents, will offer local level professional development on pedagogy, will engage in one-on-one coaching / mentoring with faculty, and will provide formation opportunities for teachers and leaders in using the created resources.
