Curriculum Specialist jobs in Georgia

Curriculum Specialist designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     REPORTS TO: Director of Gifted & Intervention Programs 

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Five (5) years of teaching experience
    2. Holds valid Georgia Certification at T-5 level or higher
    3. Demonstrates exceptional written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills necessary to relate well with educators, parents and students
    4. Exhibits a professional attitude and demeanor at all times dealing with fellow employees, parents, students, and community
    5. Exhibits time on task and flexible, cooperative, progressive and hardworking attitude
    6. Possesses leadership experience at the school/system level

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    1. Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
    2. Demonstrates ability to attend to details and to efficiently multi-task
    3. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs
    4. Demonstrates knowledge of Georgia Standards of Excellence
    5. Demonstrates knowledge of research-based instructional strategies
    6. Demonstrates ability to model and assist teachers in implementing instructional strategies in the designated content area
    7. Demonstrates knowledge of available instructional interventions and the ability to supervise and evaluate their effective implementation
    8. Demonstrates ability to interpret and implement federal laws, state rules, and local policies
    9. Demonstrates an ability to collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data
    10. Demonstrates professional interpersonal skills with school staff, central office staff, parents/guardians, students, and community
    11. Demonstrates ability to work with limited supervision
    12. Demonstrates an excellent attendance record

     

     

    DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

    1. Serves as case manager for students receiving Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports by facilitating all MTSS meetings
    2. Communicates with key stakeholders and works with MTSS school-based teams, Tier 2 Team, and Tier 3 Team to implement the MTSS framework, which includes academic and behavioral supports
    3. Trains and supports colleagues on MTSS implementation
    4. Compiles, analyzes and utilizes student data (universal screening, progress monitoring, formative and summative assessments)
    5. Implements and sustains a comprehensive MTSS framework in accordance with the implementation rubric
    6. Supports teachers in identifying student needs and selecting appropriate interventions
    7. Monitors the effectiveness of student interventions and provides support with progress monitoring
    8. Prepares all required reports and maintains all appropriate records related to areas of responsibility
    9. Models and facilitates the evaluation of the types of responses to instruction/intervention for large groups, small groups, and individual students
    10. Provides technical assistance to administrators, teachers and school-based leadership teams to facilitate implementation of a Multi-Tiered System of Supports at the school level. This includes the development of professional learning communities that integrate standards-based instruction. Technical assistance activities include observation and feedback, modeling and other supportive assistance necessary to implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports
    11. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities
