    Position Summary

    Provides subject matter expertise and collaborates cross-functionally across Bridgestone West to bring the voice of the customer to the way we think about every phase of our product and marketing processes. Leverages business strategy and data to define / enhance the brand and identify its greatest opportunities. Leads the alignment of various pools of deep subject-specific insight to tell the bigger customer story. Ensuring these insights inform our strategic planning process and decision making throughout our product, strategy and marketing organizations.

    Preferred location is in Nashville, TN (BSAM Headquarters) or Brussels, Belgium (BSEMEA headquarters). Open to remote for the right candidate.

    Responsibilities

    • Be an Inspirational Insights Visionary: Align and lead through thought leadership, inspiring followership and gaining consensus from a cross-functional team to ensure Bridgestone has the right strategy, owners, processes and technology support to understand and embed customer insights into our strategies and plans within our dispersed organizational structure.
    • Telling the Data Story: Connect and translate various research projects and data points – internal and external – into meaningful, actionable insights that inspire change and inform decision making by uncovering the story within the research and making recommendation on next steps in a concise and compelling manner. Demonstrating a deep understanding of and partnership with the business to drive the right types of research projects and recommend the right next steps (strategic and tangible) to support business unit goals, objectives, and strategies.
    • Steward and champion enterprise-wide insights: Lead collection and organization of insights gathered from all levels of the organization, democratize access, proactively manage ongoing updates and champion accretive activities as we work to align to more singular sources of truth around key insights.
    • Lead Marketing Insights for Marketers: Manage all aspects of research/insight projects for the corporate marketing function: developing the learning plan, recommending methodologies; identifying partners; managing design and scope of research; triangulating with other data sources; presenting to internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborate to Model Insights Expertise: Work with various Business teams to lead the development of learning agendas based on business and brand priorities, while maintaining an enterprise view to drive efficiency and scale where it makes sense; support Business teams by determining the appropriate support model to deliver against these research plans based upon timing, budget, expertise required, etc.
    • Cultivate a Strong Partner Network: Maintain strong relationships with and strategic oversight of both existing research partners and develop the appropriate new relationships to create a network to provides the right level of coverage for Bridgestone’s evolving needs. Work to ensure all partners are delivering value and completing projects within scope, time and budget requirements.
    • 10 years of customer and market insights / marketing research experience

    • Agency management experience, including a strong understanding of the market research and marketing insights agency ecosystem and various agency models available

    • Ability to influence actions and coordinate activity across broad cross-business-unit, cross-functional stakeholder groups without direct authority

    • Outstanding communication skills, including fluency in the languages of technology and marketing, and the ability to effectively communicate with executive leadership

    • Experience leading research in market trends & sizing/segmentation, competitive intelligence and customer sentiment

    • Experience with both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to inform product development, concept testing, customer journey mapping, messaging and brand research

    • Experience with library science and/or data & analytics

    • Experience building and leading a team of research/SME's and demonstrating a passion for team development

    • Blend of B2B and B2C experience, automotive industry and or retail is a plus

    • Experience working in matrixed organizations where leadership through influence was a demonstrated skill.

    Education Qualifications
