Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Additionally, Customer Segment Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Customer Segment Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Customer Segment Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are looking for a Segment Development Manager - Education to develop strategy and direction for the education segment at Axis Communication in the Americas. This includes generating an awareness and demand for Axis products and solutions. This role will primarily focus on the K-12 education including Public, Private, and Charter schools, and Higher Education Universities and Colleges.

    What you’ll do here as Segment Development Manager - Education?

    Strategy

    • Develop concise and focused solutions and strategies for the education segment.
    • Maintain and grow “end user” relationships built upon the strategic objectives and business initiatives.
    • Expand key vertical based NSI relationships and work closely with national account partners vertical sales teams.
    • Build relationships and work closely with integrator partner vertical counterparts in the education segment.
    • Work closely with the Education Marketing Manager to develop relevant marketing materials for the education segment to include K-12 and Higher Education.
    • Identify new markets and innovative solutions in the education space within and outside of physical security for IP devices and solutions developed by Axis and its partners.

    Subject Matter Expertise

    • Act as the authorized Axis spokesperson for the education segment.
    • Work closely with Industry Association groups and participate in committees to network, help build the association’s membership and drive technology standards and guidance through these relationships.
    • Exhibit and speak at education specific marketing events and conferences. Support other segment managers, when necessary, at conferences.
    • Public Speaking and Press Opportunities / Engagements at conferences, education events, local and national events, and news sources, such as newspapers, magazines, and television.
    • Work closely with the Government Relations Program Manager to find and promote legislation and grants.

    Field Engagement and Knowledge Transfer

    • Actively engage with the field sales teams to build and lead an education segment strategy for the Americas.
    • Review monthly reporting on opportunities and efforts to management and report quarterly on the segment progress.

    Solution Identification and Development

    • Look beyond physical security solutions and define operational ROI solutions for the education segment.
    • Partner with solution and product technology partners (TIP) pertinent to education segment.
    • Coordinate internal Axis resources and communication between sales, solutions and services, marketing operations, technical services
    • Management of technology directives relevant to Axis products and work closely with the engineering teams in the Americas and Lund, Sweden

    Who are we looking for/Who are you?

    • Expertise in education policy and procedures, with proven ability to build strategic and trusted relationships.
    • Expertise in understanding local government educational school board structures and practices.
    • Experience with association boards for standards in education and in enterprise security needs.
    • Strong leadership, communication, coaching and training skills.
    • Ability to convey complex technologies and solutions easily.
    • Strong past work history and relationships within security and IT professionals’ groups. Ideally, in the Education sector.
    • Knowledge of marketing avenues, specific to segment and able to communicate needs to leadership.
    • Contract review and interpretation, to include understanding grants and their application.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Power Point, and Excel.
    • Self-motivated team player, requiring little supervision.

    We'd love to hear that you have/are:

    • 7 years’ experience as an educator, teaching administrator, school administrator within the Education space, Schoolwide Security Director/Manager, Law Enforcement School Resource Officer, or Manager of School Emergency Development, Industry Consultant, or working with a Security Products Manufacturer or Integrator that specialize in IT based Physical Security Enterprise Solutions for the education segment.
    • Preferred, advanced certification in ASIS CPP and / or PSP.
    • A bachelor's degree or equivalent is minimum, a master’s degree a plus.
    • Established professional end user and partner network within the education segment.

    Physical Demands and Travel:

    • Employee is occasionally required to lift 20-25 lbs.
    • Expected travel time for this position is approximately 70-80%
    • Expect at a minimum 2-trips to Axis HQ Lund Sweden annually.
    • International travel to include, Canada, Mexico, South America, Caribbean, and Europe.

    Pay Range:

    The approximate pay range for this location and position is $150-165K OTE. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual's qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
