Customer Service Supervisor supervises a staff of customer service representatives that respond to requests from customers by phone, e-mail, or chat. Manages the daily workload to ensure required service volume and quality levels are attained. Being a Customer Service Supervisor trains and coaches staff in standard policies, procedures, and best practices. Identifies opportunities for operational improvements and implements solutions. Additionally, Customer Service Supervisor monitors and evaluate staff performance. Responds to escalated issues to facilitate solutions. May provide direct customer support for complicated or critical issues. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Customer Service Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Customer Service Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Duties

    As a Customer Service Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to train and grow your team and contribute to a culture where employees feel valued and respected. You will be instrumental in making sure the unit is efficient and effective by assisting and responding to customers who have complex issues regarding driver and vehicle records. Your commitment to guiding this team by developing connections and communicating openly with other units throughout the division and agency will be critical to the success of supporting other units.

    Some of what you will be doing:
    • Conduct regular unit meetings, sharing information, encouraging, and promoting teamwork, and employee engagement.
    • Lead the team through system and operational changes.
    • Write and develop departmental procedures for licensing service programs within the unit.
    • Develop and provide training and technical assistance to customer service staff in coordination with the Customer Service Specialist lead, peer supervisor and unit manager.
    • Write annual assessments and performance plans for the staff.

    Qualifications

    What you will bring:

    • Six (6) years of experience helping clients and/or customers regarding inquiries, complaints, or problems.
    Experience must include:
    • One (1) year leading and/or supervising a team.
    • One (1) year using Microsoft Suite office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
    Experience can be gained concurrently.

    Up to four (4) years of relevant education may substitute year for year for experience.

    (Associates degree = 2 years Bachelor’s degree = 4 years)

    • Knowledge of Driver/Vehicle Licensing Laws and Rules.
    Additional Requirements of Employment:
    • Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant’s suitability and competence to perform in the position.
    • In addition, an acceptable fingerprint based criminal history background check is also required for this position, as a condition of employment. Fingerprints will be used to check the criminal history records of the FBI. You will have the capability to review and challenge any record through the FBI.
