Seasonal Technician / VTSU Farm, Randolph Campus

Part Time- Temp (up to 10 Hours per week)

Compensation- $20 per HR Grade N/A

Seasonal (ASAP – Sept. 30th 2024)

BASIC FUNCTION

To provide services, on a part-time seasonal basis, in support of the VTSU Randolph Farm's diversified agriculture and forestry operations, and the overarching mission of the Center for Agriculture and Food Entrepreneurship (CAFE).

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• General farm/forest tasks as assigned, including: mowing, minor upkeep and repairs, maintenance of spaces and equipment, woodlot/maple management, support of on-farm events, and other agricultural/farm duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Minimal supervision is received from the Associate Director of Campus Operations Programs and the Ex. Director for the Center for Agriculture and Food Entrepreneurship.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to safely and effectively operate and upkeep a wide range of farm equipment.
• Ability to perform diverse farm tasks to a reasonable standard, with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge and appreciation of the farm and farm activities, as they relate to the teaching/learning mission of VTSU and CAFE.
