Overview

The Vera Court Neighborhood Center is a neighborhood center on the north side of Madison, and is part of the Vera Court Neighborhood Center, Inc. The agency as a whole aims to and improve lives by providing quality programming in the areas of , , and .

The Vera Court Center Director leads the Vera Court Neighborhood Center as the main supervising staff, community advocate and strategist. They serve as the internal adhesive and the external public face of the center. The Vera Court Center Director reports to the Executive Director of the agency.

Primary Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed are the current primary responsibilities of the role. These are subject to change as the role progresses.

Leadership

• Assist in developing, supporting, and assessing center programming
• Lead goal and objective setting, as well as reporting of grant funding programs
• Manage neighborhood center and program budgets
• Establish and maintain community relationships and partnerships

Staff Supervision

• Hire, onboard, support and train direct reports
• Lead professional development efforts at the center
• Support staff and programs when necessary

Facility Management

• Oversee logistics of neighborhood center facility
• Lead and/or assist in facility special events
• Create partnerships and schedule facility use
• Oversee building upkeep and maintenance

Desired Qualifications

• Passion for community support and relationship building
• At least two years of experience in a leadership/supervisory role
• Bilingual, preferably Spanish-speaking
• Experience in program development
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Cultural competence and an desire to advocate for our diverse community
• Ability to manage multiple projects at once

Salaried, exempt position. Some evening and weekend work required

Salary range- $58,000-$63,000

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $58,000.00 - $63,000.00 per year
