Hiawatha Academies is a data-driven, college-preparatory K-12 charter school network that seeks to use evidence to drive improvement in our work to disrupt systemic inequity in public education. The KISD plays a key role in shaping our information management strategy and owning the administration of the data systems and processes that currently support it.

Responsibilities*
*
Serve as lead system consultant for Hiawatha’s information management processes*
- Serve as the senior system administrator for Hiawatha’s Salesforce instance, including:
- Completing seamless, error-free periodic imports into Salesforce from other data sources
- Permissioning in accordance with our values, policies, and applicable legal requirements.
- Managing changes to the instance, either by vendors or internal team members, to ensure data security and use case functionality.
- Lead, in collaboration with the People Team, continuous refinement of Hiawatha’s processes for managing information about our talent and staff, including recruitment tracking, application management, staff onboarding, placement tracking, licensure verification, and performance management
- Lead, in collaboration with the Network Operations Director, continuous refinement of Hiawatha’s operational processes’ data capture aspects.
- Manage legacy Tableau workbooks for data that is not available in other platforms.

Oversee the implementation and support of all network-wide surveys*
- Create and execute project plans for bi-annual student, family, and staff surveys. Coordinate with the Senior Network Officer to gather and implement feedback on outcomes and question content.
- Coordinate the Human Resources team to project plan, create, distribute and analyze 360 evaluations.
- Serve as the administrator for the network instance of Qualtrics, managing user permissions in accordance with our values, policies, and applicable legal requirements.

Support processes to improve the cleanliness of our data, its security, and the efficiency with which we collect it across the network*
- Implement, oversee, and refine Hiawatha’s user permissioning models in all centrally-managed platforms, including Salesforce, and our Student Information System (Infinite Campus), in accordance with our values, policies, and applicable legal requirements
- Support the Network Operations Director and Campus Leaders in implementing data management best practices in accordance with our norms to ensure uniform, reliable collection of student information that supports network-wide accessibility and efficient state reporting

Serve as the lead technical contact for Hiawatha’s Student Information System, Infinite Campus*
- Provides training and support to campus leadership on setting up and maintaining their campus’ Infinite Campus records for each school year.
- Serve as second level technical support for campus and network leadership in solving technical issues and improvements.
- Coordinate, with the Recruitment and Admissions Director, improvements and training on registration processes for campus operations teams.

Oversees the use of student data in academic platforms*
- In partnership with the Academic Program team and campus leadership, oversee the rostering of curriculum, learning management, and assessment systems.
- Serves as an admin for Illuminate DNA and Educlimber, ensuring that student information, demographics, and assessment data is correctly loaded.

Support the reporting of accurate and actionable data to the network and its partners*
- Coordinate with the Senior Network Officer, Senior Operations Officer, Development Director, and Communications Director to ensure that accurate and timely information is reported to the board, authorizer, funders, and external audiences.
- Collaborates with the Network Operations Director to ensure that Infinite Campus is accurately submitting data for EdFi and any other state and federally mandated reporting.

Support the safe use of student technology*
- Consult with campuses to ensure that best practices are being used when creating and maintaining student technology access.
- In coordination with the Academic Program Officer and the Network Operations Director, ensure that digital tools that are made available to students and staff comply with both network priorities and applicable laws.

Champion data democracy by building teammates’ capacity*
- Support Campus Leaders and members of the Network Support Team in identifying and meeting user education and training needs
- Support Campus Leaders and members of the Network Support Team as needed with ad hoc reporting and analysis needs

Hiawatha Employment Logistics*

This role is a part of the Network Support Team.
- The work day for most Network Support Team members is from 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM. The KISD will set their individual schedule with the Senior Operating Officer.

Minimum Required Skills*
- Experience as a Salesforce system administrator
- Previous experience working with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
- Experience working with data in relational databases
- Agile, self-directed learner able to quickly master new software and teach others
- Ability to problem solve on their feet and prioritize needs
- Bachelor’s degree

Highly Preferred Skills*
- Previous experience working in a K-12 education setting
- Knowledge of Student Information Systems such as Infinite Campus, including experience working with large data sets retrieved from them and compliance with state and federal requirements.
- Knowledge of FERPA and Minnesota state requirements for student data protection and standardization.
- Experience with high-throughput, repeatable data management and manipulation processes using a scripting language like Stata, R, or Python
- Previous experience as an administrator of Qualtrics or other survey platform, or experience with survey design
- Coursework or work experience in educational statistics, economics, or another analytical field
