Data Science Manager manages teams tasked with identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies found in big data sets and used to develop insights by performing extensive data analysis. Oversees the interpretation of results from multiple sources using a variety of techniques, ranging from simple data aggregation via statistical analysis to complex data mining. Being a Data Science Manager manages the design and implementation of big data solutions for the organization. Uses extensive knowledge and research into big data tools to guide data scientists' adoption and use of new and existing tools. Additionally, Data Science Manager typically requires a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to senior management.   • Job Summary: The Manager of Data Science will lead a team of Data Scientists in developing and delivering models that drive growth, results, and action at scale.  You will partner with the business and other stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into data science projects.   The ideal candidate for this role is an excellent communicator with the ability to describe complex concepts clearly and concisely. They should be able to work independently in gathering requirements, developing roadmaps, and delivering results.

     Essential Duties:

    • Define the direction, execution, and quality of all activities undertaken by the data science team
    • Organize and prioritize tasks and deliverables, and make sure changes, releases, and timelines are communicated to all stakeholders
    • Ownership of all existing machine learning products. Ensure rigorous testing, documentation, and monitoring is in place for all of the team’s products
    • Identify and make recommendations on new tools and technologies to enhance the team’s capabilities and efficiency
    • Develop processes and technical standards that ensure quality, consistency, and scalability
    • Create presentations that describe model results and recommendations to senior executives and other key stakeholders
    • Create a structured method of gathering business feedback on data science output in order to drive continuous improvement
    • Collaborate with other data teams and engineering teams to ensure model results are reliably and consistently delivered to stakeholders
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the team to explore new approaches and technologies to solve complex data challenges

     Job Qualifications:

    • 6 years of experience in data science and data engineering required
    • 2 years of experience leading teams
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Economics, or Statistics, OR data science boot camp or certification OR commensurate experience
    • Expert Python and SQL skills (Snowflake preferred)
    • Familiarity with one or more Python data science and/or statistics libraries (Pytorch, Scikit learn, Statsmodels)
    • Familiarity with one or more Python data visualization libraries (Bokeh, Matplotlib, Seaborn)
    • Advanced skills in probability and statistics
    • Experience with model implementation and monitoring
    • Excellent logical reasoning and attention to detail
    • Desire and capacity to learn about RE/MAX’s business operations
    • Experience with AWS (S3, ECS, ECR, and EC2) and Docker required
    • Experience with Apache Airflow (AWS MWAA) and Apache Spark required

    Supervisory Responsibilities: 

    • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to data science team members
    • Provide team members with education and professional support opportunities to support their continued growth and development
    • Mentor and guide team members in all areas of Data Science, including research acumen, engineering best practices, applications of research to business needs, and professional communication

    Physical Requirements: 

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
    • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. 

    Travel Requirements: 

    • Up to once a quarter

    Hire Range/Rate:: $101,500-$132,250

    Actual compensation offered to candidate will be finalized at offer and may be above or below the posted range due to skill level, experience, industry specific knowledge, education/certifications, or geographic location.  The offer rate represents one component of the RE/MAX Holdings total compensation package.  Employees will also receive a number of benefits as listed below. Other compensation for this position may include bonus eligibility.
