Dean of Law manages administrative functions of the college of law. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Law leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Law requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Law manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Law typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Anticipated hiring rate: $115,000 - $130,000 (commensurate with experience)
THE ROLE AND RESPONSOBILITES
Reporting to the Dean of Students, the Assistant Dean of Student Services (“Assistant Dean”) advises College administration on student affairs, manages the Office of Student Services (“Student Services”), implements co-curricular professional development and other student programming, and engages in other projects that ensure a rewarding student experience as indicated in the non-exclusive list of typical responsibilities, below. The mission of Student Services is to advocate for and guide the holistic development of all students through the intentional creation of an inclusive and collaborative community that fosters a sense of belonging. Student Services creates and provides student-centered programs and services; supports students’ academic and personal growth; promotes their mental health and physical wellbeing; and encourages their development into inspired leaders and empowered legal professionals.
