  • Summary

    Under the general supervision of the Manager of Workforce Development (WFD) provides nursing services consistent with onboarding new students while providing academic instruction for the Lifespan Nursing Assistant (N.A.) School. The role of Clinical Educator is guided by American Nurses Association Nursing Administration and Professional Development Scope and Standards.

    Responsibilities

    Is responsible for knowing and acting in accordance with the principles of the Lifespan Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

    Work closely with Workforce Development to develop an environment that promotes staff growth role competency and proficiency in nursing skills/critical thinking.

    Work with staff to improve patient experience.

    Provides fit testing for each Workforce Development cohort.

    Reviews immunization records for Workforce Development students and ensures all documents required per EOHS policy are in place.

    Acts as resource to staff in response to unique situations with vaccine records.

    Acts as an extension of EOHS for COVID related questions/concerns.

    Provides students with academic support/tutoring as needed.

    Will teach both lecture and labs classes for each nursing assistant cohort.

    Facilitate N.A. clinicals at a Lifespan affiliate.

    Ensure lab supplies are always in stock.

    Support Talent Acquisition nursing team by attending recruiting events.

    Maintains quality assurance safety environmental and infection control in accordance with established policies procedures and objectives.

    All essential functions performed in this position respect the age gender language and other cultural and social needs of the patients.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Other Information

    Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.

    BASIC KNOWLEDGE

    Associates degree in Nursing required

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island.

    Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.

    Must have current American Heart Association Basic Life-Support for Providers certification.

    Experience

    Minimum of 2-3 years relevant clinical experience in hospital setting with demonstrated teaching and communication skills preferred

    Intermediate computer skill

    Strong interpersonal skills.

    Previous Teaching Experience In Clinical Settings Preferred.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    Prolonged standing and walking. May be required to lift push or pull equipment up to 35 pounds. Repeated bending squatting stooping.

    General hospital environment with occasional stressful conditions associated with patient care during clinical.
