Diesel Mechanic performs inspection, maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of diesel engines. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems. Being a Diesel Mechanic utilizes computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes. Replaces and/or refurbishes parts. Additionally, Diesel Mechanic maintains maintenance logs according to requirements. Ensures services provided follow all quality standards and safety procedures. May perform DOT annual inspections on vehicles. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically requires Commercial Driver License (CDL) - Class A. Typically requires a Certificate in Automotive & Diesel Technology. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Diesel Mechanic works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Title: Service Technician
Location: Lakewood, WA
Starting Wage DOE: ($30 to $45 $1-$3 efficiency bonus paid weekly)
To perform (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades, and refurbishment) on equipment at external or shop location(s) in line with Service Manager’s instructions.
Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships as well as following best practices in all administrative and technical activities CDL Highly preferred- Mobile, adaptable, and able to work in variable physical site conditions
- Working technical knowledge related to Mechanicals, Hydraulics, Electrics, Electronics
- Working knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic drive systems
- Valid driver’s license
- Customer-oriented
- Appropriate diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Acts responsibly in the light of prevailing circumstances
- Good hands-on skills as required for relevant mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic operations
- Able to safely operate equipment for the purpose of conducting tests and repair
- Basic computer skills
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
