DESCRIPTION:
Manages and investigates submitted first party Property insurance claims, directly and/or indirectly through the use of independent adjusters, including Commercial Property, Personal Residential Property, and Cannabis;
Interprets policy language in terms of application of coverage to specific claim investigations;
Sets reserves and authorizes payment within scope of authority, effectively resolving claims in a cost-effective manner and ensuring timely issuance of disbursements;
Prepare professional status reports and written communications, both internally and externally, including requests from clients outside predetermined authority;
Coordinates and manages fact investigations and evaluates claims and lawsuits through contact with insureds, adjusters, and vendors;
Utilizes negotiating skills to resolve claims;
Keeps current on state/territory regulations, as well as industry activity and trends; and,
Potential handling of third party claims, on occasion, possible.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Minimum two years of experience handling first party property claims;
- Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills;
- Strong Microsoft Office and general computer skills;
- Strong verbal / written interpersonal and communication skills;
- Strong negotiation, analytical and problem solving skills;
- Familiarity with ISO issued Commercial Property, Homeowner’s / Dwelling, and Cannabis policy forms highly desirable; and,
-Surplus lines TPA experience is a plus;
- Relative professional designations are a plus.
* Current valid adjuster license in Home State required.
* Ability to obtain additional non-residential adjuster licenses in other states also required.
