Discount Brokerage Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of a discount brokerage. Ensures that brokerage operations adhere to the organization's financial and business strategies. Being a Discount Brokerage Operations Manager monitors the purchase and sale of securities for clients at discounted commissions. Ensures accuracy of transactions, oversees account maintenance, and acts as a liaison with the organization's full-service broker as needed. Additionally, Discount Brokerage Operations Manager ensures compliance with all relevant government regulations. Keeps abreast of market conditions. Requires NASD Series 7 license. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to a director. The Discount Brokerage Operations Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Overview: Under direction of the Director of Fire and Emergency Services, provide leadership and support of a high visibility Emergency Management Program. Develop and maintain operations and consequence management plan development and facilitation within the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community. Supervise a planning team through the execution of a standardized planning process in the development of operational response and recovery planning products. Apply knowledge of emergency management response and recovery programs as well as the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community government's role in response and recovery in coordination with Federal, State, County and local partners. Assist with the research, analysis, and development of information papers, meeting materials, and briefing products as well as facilitating training in the disciplines within the SMSC Public Safety Divisions. Provide incident support during events and incidents to the SMSC Public Safety and Community departments. Adapt to new concepts and staff direction while maintaining a high level of quality for a professional emergency management program. Support the Public Safety Administrator, Director of Fire and Emergency Services and Director of Conservation and Enforcement with communications to the SMSC Government and SMSC Gaming leadership as needed. This position has the ability to facilitate emergency management decision in accordance with the delegation of authority from the SMSC constitution.

    Job Requirements:

    Reflects MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING, CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE required in order to meet the expectations of this job

    • Associate degree in emergency management, public administration, homeland security or a closely related field. Bachelor degree preferred.
    • Combination of education and experience in emergency management, emergency preparedness, public safety or related field to equal five years, with a minimum of two years supervisory experience (supervisory experience preferred but not necessary.)
    • State of Minnesota Certified Emergency Manager – Directors Qualification Curriculum or equivalent
    • Valid Class D driver’s license required with a good driving record.
    • This position is subject to testing for drugs (THC included) & alcohol in accordance with the Federal Department of Transportation Regulations as well as the SMSC’s Drug / THC and Alcohol Policy.
