Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfillment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation. Communicates and monitors production measurement metrics and sets performance targets at the team and individual level for all distribution-related functions that align with company objectives and are within regulatory guidelines. Being a Distribution Manager utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies. Troubleshoots and resolves escalated operational issues. Additionally, Distribution Manager ensures all operations adhere to industry safety protocols and comply with OSHA, DOT, or other governmental regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Distribution Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     Summary: As an Area Sales Manager at Rainforest Distribution, your impactful role involves working within Natural Food and Specialty Retailers. Your focus will be on cultivating relationships with store managers and personnel, driving performance objectives within a designated geographic territory. Key activities revolve around comprehensive wall-to-wall sales coverage, addressing challenges like out-of-stocks, schematic compliance, item and pricing surveys, promotion selling, and meticulous product merchandising, all contributing to incremental sales volume.

    The Ideal Candidate: We seek a highly self-motivated and creative Area Sales Manager who will adeptly represent our brands, ensuring their products are merchandised to the highest retail standards. The successful candidate understands that effective communication and relationship building are foundational to our success.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with both customers and vendor partners.
    • Ensure regular and effective communication to understand and meet their needs.
    • Write customer orders as needed on a daily and weekly basis to ensure timely delivery and fulfillment.
    • Conduct in-person visits to accounts regularly to strengthen relationships and address any issues or opportunities.
    • Activate new accounts within the defined territory, expanding the customer base and market reach.
    • Gain additional product placements within existing accounts.
    • Introduce new brands and products to current accounts to drive sales growth.
    • Assist with major retail initiatives such as new product introductions, new chain activations, display activation, and store resets.
    • Monitor inventory levels in each store to optimize sales and minimize returns.
    • Communicate regularly with the store’s buyer and your supervisor to manage inventory effectively, preventing overstock or stockouts.
    • Attend and actively participate in meetings as necessary at the Company’s offices to stay informed and aligned with company goals and strategies
    • Mandatory Training: Reps are required to complete all training relevant to Rainforest policies and their respective positions.
    • Among other responsibilities.

    Qualifications / Requirements:

    • Experience in Sales and/or Grocery/Merchandising preferred.
    • Natural Food Industry experience preferred.
    • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to drive for extended periods.
    • Clean driving record is a must.
    • Ability to take initiative, be persistent, passionate, and think outside the box.
    • Confident interpersonal and customer service skills.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
    • Excellent communication skills and proficiency in technology (email, Dropbox, Slack).
    • Must have a functioning smartphone.

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to drive daily to and from customers
    • Must be able to bend, twist, and move, including lifting boxes weighing up to 25 lbs.

    Communication and Reporting:

    • All in-store level activity needs to be reported through digital platforms.
    • Providing real-time information to senior management to troubleshoot or communicate a brand’s status.

    Base Salary: $52,000 with potential to earn additional through commissions/incentives
