EAP Counselor coordinates and implements an organization's Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Serves as a knowledgeable resource for employees seeking information and guidance on mental health and wellness topics. Being an EAP Counselor conducts confidential assessments to determine the needs of employees seeking assistance. Provides short-term counseling and support services to employees and provides referrals to external resources when necessary. Additionally, EAP Counselor maintains accurate and confidential records of EAP services provided, ensuring compliance with privacy laws and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The EAP Counselor occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Perks Tech equipment provided ⌨ 100% Work from home Access to all-inclusive benefits 401k from your start date Paid Holidays Paid Clinical Recharge Days Paid Well-being days Professional Development Days Free access to Relias (CEU learning platform) License Registration Fee Reimbursement (up to $300 a year) Responsibilities Provide assessments and short-term counseling services using a brief solution focused model Ability to provide counseling within a 50-minute session with documentation taking place during the balance of the counseling hour Attend continuous learning sessions, training, and case consultations on a regular basis Meet sessional, containment, and other targets as defined by the Clinical Manager Provide telephone consultations related to crisis or assessed urgent situations when required Comfortable navigating internal operating systems, retrieving organizational information, and communicating with clients Remain informed on relevant regulatory and legislative developments Requirements: Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical Psychology, Counseling/Education, or related field 3-5 years of EAP Experience Experience working with federal or corporate employees Independently clinically licensed in Washington DC, Virginia, & Maryland Knowledge/Skills: Excellent communication, problem solving, collaboration, cultural competency, time management and organizational skills. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Windows NT environment, basic typing skills). Strict adherence to the ethical principles governing confidentiality/privacy legislation.
