Electrical Engineering Manager manages electrical engineering projects and operations within an organization. Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, testing, installing, and maintaining electronic equipment or devices. Being an Electrical Engineering Manager reviews and approves new or revised designs, testing or installation procedures. Ensures engineering projects are appropriately staffed and milestones are achieved. Additionally, Electrical Engineering Manager provides professional development opportunities and expert guidance to engineers. Draws on significant experience and knowledge to contribute to projects. Requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Typically reports to a director. The Electrical Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Electrical Engineering Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Job Responsibilities- Effectively lead, manage, and mentor the Electrical Engineering staff with an emphasis on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.
- Set clear goals and objectives, assess progress, and instill a performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability. Deploy a strategy that builds, retains, and engages all employees through inclusion and teamwork.
- Coordinates with various disciplines within the organization (architectural, mechanical, process/chemical, structural, etc.) to collaborate, optimize, and improve work and staff sharing by participating in multi-discipline strategy sessions.
- Assists all levels of Management in articulating discipline capability requirements in support of strategic and business objectives.
- Identifies, champions, mentors, and coaches the development of our less experienced staff and looks for ways to elevate the technical and professional expertise of the team.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
- Active Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain an active PE license is required.
- Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in industrial manufacturing, semiconductor, high technology, and/or battery manufacturing industry.
