    About The Role 

    The Project Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and executing various electric utility projects from inception to completion. This role demands a proactive and organized professional with exceptional leadership, communication, and technical skills.  This position is located in Eastern Massachusetts (Westwood) and candidate should live within a 50-mile radius.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop comprehensive project plans, defining scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines. 
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to assign tasks and responsibilities. 
    • Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement effective solutions. 
    • Ensure adherence to industry best practices, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. 
    • Prepare project budgets and cost estimates, tracking expenses throughout the project lifecycle. 
    • Identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions. 
    • Continuously assess project risks and make data-driven decisions to overcome challenges. 
    • Implement contingency plans to address unforeseen circumstances and maintain project momentum. 
    • Delegate tasks, set clear expectations, and provide guidance to team members. 
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, mentorship, and professional development initiatives. 
    • Manage a program, maybe multiple (potentially a relay replacement program or battery replacement program).

    Key Qualifications 

    • Experience with Substation design and build.
    • Knowledge of Electrical and Control systems.
    • Familiar with Design Development/Progression (Scope Definition, Conceptual, Prelim, Detailed, IFC).
    • Experience with being a sub-contractor or working with sub-contractors.
    • Proven experience (5 years) for a Level 1 and (10 years) for a Level 2.
    • In-depth knowledge of electric utility systems, equipment, and infrastructure. 
    • Demonstrated success in managing financials, schedule and change control, involving project sponsor and stakeholders.  
    • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques. 
    • Excellent Customer and Executive Management relationship skills  
    • Adept at building relationships to push projects along.
    • Ability to make informed decisions under pressure, meet strict deadlines, and facilitate focused and cross-functional meetings and calls. 
    • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and environmental standards in the electric utility industry 
    • Understanding of policies, change order, forecasting and scheduling.

    Key Nice-To-Haves

    • Mechanical Engineering Degree
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
