Communicates details of situation and location. Additionally, Emergency Dispatcher enters unit response details into a database. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Dispatcher works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. - Check-in drivers as they report to work including reviewing uniforms and providing work tickets
- Providing information regarding Coach & Tour Division operations to customers and other staff
- Utilizing GPS and dispatching software to monitor operations of routes for accuracy
- Working with drivers and other staff to address service issues/failures in a timely manner
- Review driver itineraries for accuracy and address driver questions/concerns promptly
- Open availability to work mornings, nights, weekends and holidays, as required.
- High school degree or equivalent
- Bus operations experience preferred
- Well-developed planning and organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Detail oriented and customer focused
- Proactive mentality towards problem solving
- Strong phone and verbal communication skills along with active listening
- Adaptability to different personality types
- Ability to work with computer systems and follow specific business rules for data entry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (primarily Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Ability to use internet or other tools to research trip and destination information
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements at a moment’s notice
