City Light is seeking an Engineering Aide for one of its Service Center locations (North or South). Engineering Aides perform engineering-related support tasks, including researching and interpreting engineering documents, performing computations, managing data, compiling data for reports, and processing and creating service requests for the Electrical Service Representatives. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing customer-submitted plans for completeness, including riser diagrams, load calculations, site plans, metered service location, and customer information as well as other necessary documentation. You will also contact customers as needed to obtain additional information required to process the service request. This position will report to the Electrical Service Representative Supervisor.

Required Qualifications: In addition to the skills and experience mentioned below, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has:
Satisfactory completion of high school mathematics including trigonometry (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
License, Certification and Other Requirements: Current State of Washington driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
Desired Qualifications - You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities: - Experience performing work similar or equivalent to Engineering Aide duties.
- Experience delivering excellent customer service to a diverse customer base.
- Experience working with complex computer applications.
- Ability to clearly express technical information verbally and in writing.
- Ability to apply critical thinking when reviewing and assessing technical information.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with homeowners, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and representatives from other government agencies.
- Ability to prioritize incoming work, competing customer requests and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to perform administrative duties, including answering incoming customer telephone calls and responding to in-person inquiries.

The full salary range for this position is $29.73 to $34.60 per hour.
