Enterprise Infrastructure Director manages and coordinates the information systems that will adequately support the organization's enterprise infrastructure. Monitors and manages all IT infrastructure projects to meet company and client needs. Being an Enterprise Infrastructure Director determines current and future enterprise infrastructure needs, ensuring the scalability of infrastructure design to handle expected growth. Implements policies and procedures to maintain, enhance, and secure an organization's technology infrastructure. Additionally, Enterprise Infrastructure Director is responsible for monitoring the systems to ensure the highest level of infrastructure performance. May assist in network interface planning, hardware resource availability, and the development of new applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Enterprise Infrastructure Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be an Enterprise Infrastructure Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • General Description

    Serving as a member of the South Region leadership team, this position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing activities in the Engineering department. The Engineering Director will provide engineering expertise and technical support throughout the project lifecycle and support field operations, customer account management, procurement, and key stakeholder groups within Quanta. It will report to the Vice President, Operations – South Region.

    Duties

    • Strategically collaborate with operational leadership on technical goals and oversee all engineering work for the region
    • Act as the technical team lead during the conceptual, preliminary engineering, detail design, construction, and closeout phases of the project lifecycle. This will include site visits as necessary during different phases of a project
    • Monitor and deliver on technical project milestones and manage the performance of engineering service providers
    • Develop and implement engineering controls and quality assurance standards across specific engineering disciplines.
    • Ensure internal technical documentation and standards are upheld to meet company and customer requirements
    • Responsible for managing engineering staffing initiatives and planning for resource needs to support customer growth
    • Lead, mentor, and oversee training strategy for engineering staff
    • Manage departmental budget and act as oversight on project budgets as required
    • Leverage integrated services and enterprise resources to drive work throughout the region
    • Collaborate with operational leaders on proposals and planning to support new projects and initiatives
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Required Experience And Education

    • Minimum of 12 years’ experience in the electric utility industry performing engineering related duties and/or management for distribution and transmission projects.
    • Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) or Graduate degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university
    • P.E. license preferred
    • Expert knowledge of electric utility engineering and construction standards
    • Advanced knowledge of utility industry processes including scheduling, contracts, coordinating and managing all disciplines
    • Excellent business acumen and experience managing departmental budgets
    • Knowledge of process and procedures for project controls and estimates
    • Experience interpreting internal and external business issues, recommending best practices, and solving complex problems.
    • Demonstrated experience supporting external customers
    • Strong follow-through, written communications, and interpersonal skills required
    • Able to deal with ambiguity and ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and determine priorities in a complex environment

    Travel Requirements:

    • Role will require travel as necessary to achieve job responsibilities, up to 50% of the time
